Running backs
Anybody seen Jay Graham? Errict Rhett was impressive, especially on short runs. Priest Holmes played well. The Ravens, though, must get fullback Roosevelt Potts more involved and get a better mix of pass and run. -- C
Quarterbacks
Jim Harbaugh earns an incomplete because of his injury. Eric Zeier had to overcome Ted Marchibroda's conservative play-calling, but made some nice reads and adjustments. -- C+
Receivers
The usually reliable Jermaine Lewis dropped two passes, including one for a possible touchdown. Michael Jackson made several catches on high passes thrown by Zeier. It was not a particularly good day for the rest of the group. -- C
Offensive linemen
The Ravens did pretty much whatever they wanted to and ran effectively to the weak side. Right tackle Orlando Brown seemed to come out of a preseason funk, but left guard Wally Williams was atrocious with the illegal-procedure penalties. -- C+
Defensive linemen
This unit came close to getting an A. Tackle Tony Siragusa got a lot of penetration, forcing Jerome Bettis outside. Ends Rob Burnett and Michael McCrary didn't allow Bettis to square his shoulders at the line of scrimmage. -- B+
Linebackers
Middle linebacker Ray Lewis led all tacklers with 11 and twice ran down quarterback Kordell Stewart from behind. Strong-side linebacker Peter Boulware had a strong effort against tight end Mark Bruener, who dominated him last season. -- B+
Defensive backs
Rookie Duane Starks had a superb debut and Rod Woodson was solid on the corner. But the safety play needs to get better, especially defending the long ball. -- C+
Special teams
They ought to lock the doors and ban these units from the new stadium. Three costly snaps and three missed field-goal attempts. Brian Kinchen, hurry back and long snap. Please. -- F
