County police arrested two Severna Park men before dawn Thursday after patrol officers stopped them behind a barber shop on Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard that had been vandalized. John Howard Bristow, 18, of the 700 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Boulevard in Severna Park, and Jason Edward Taylor, 20, of the 600 block of McKinway Road in Severna Park, were charged with destruction of property, police said.

Police said officers spotted two men behind the Severna Park Barber Shop in the 600 block of Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd. about 4: 30 a.m. and stopped them because it was so early in the morning and there had been reports of spray paintings and burglaries in the area. They took the men's addresses and sent them on their way, police said.

Shortly after, however, the officers found a can of red spray paint and a freshly painted red design on the shop's rear wall and on a nearby traffic-signal control box. The officers went to the men's houses, found both had red paint on their hands and arrested them, police said.

Police said the men gave written statements incriminating themselves in the barber shop vandalism and six other places the previous night.

They also confessed to being involved in spray-painting incidents in May, June and August, police said.

A Galesville couple and a 16-year-old girl were arrested on drug charges Thursday after detectives searched their home as part of a monthlong investigation that began when police got a tip about an unusual amount of traffic at the residence.

Christopher Drew Trott, 39, and Eileen Lyn Trott, 46, of the 900 block of Main St., were charged with possession and possession with intent to distribute drugs and drug paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance for the keeping and selling of drugs, police said. The teen-ager was charged with possession of drugs, police said.

Detectives obtained a warrant and searched the house at 11: 30 p.m. Thursday and found marijuana and smoking pipes, police said.
