The owner of a Gamber carryout beer, wine and sandwich shop died late Monday after her car ran off Route 32 and crashed into the porch of a house, authorities said.

Sandra Lee Timchula, 35, of the 2600 block of Sykesville Road near Gamber was ejected from the car, police said. She was taken by state MedEvac helicopter to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where she was pronounced dead at 10: 50 p.m., a hospital spokeswoman said yesterday.

The 1998 Chrysler was traveling north on Route 32 (Sykesville Road) when it failed to negotiate a curve, police said.

The car ran off the east side of the road about 9: 40 p.m., then veered back to the left, according to Trooper A. Scott Lowman. The Chrysler continued across the center line and went off the west side of the road, where it struck a utility pole and the front porch of a house in the 3800 block of Sykesville Road, one block from the carryout shop.

An estimate of damage to the house was unavailable. The investigation is continuing, Lowman said.

Timchula was not wearing a seat belt, he said. He said alcohol did not appear a factor, but declined to say if the Chrysler was speeding.
