Amerix Corp. establishes scholarship at college

Amerix Corp. has announced the establishment of a scholarship at Howard Community College for students with low or moderate income. The Amerix 21st Century Fund will provide students the opportunity to take courses that lead to employment and improve their career possibilities.

Amerix is the county's fastest growing employer and is the country's largest debt management service provider to the credit counseling industry.

The scholarship will be administered by the college, which will establish criteria for selection.

Patty Reed,a resident of Columbia, has been promoted to estate and trust specialist/development coordinator in the development department at Goucher College. Reed will be responsible for administering and monitoring estates in which Goucher is named as a beneficiary. Reed had been a development secretary in the division. She is a student in the Goucher II program for adults who wish to complete or begin their undergraduate studies.
