Southern District
Robbery try: A gunman tried to rob the McDonald's restaurant in the 700 block of Washington Blvd. about 11 p.m. Wednesday, but fled without any cash when a cashier ducked behind the counter after the gunman demanded money.
Burglary: A mountain bike valued at more than $500 was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 1000 block of W. Barre St.
Theft from vehicle: A cellular phone and laptop computer were stolen from a 1994 Honda Accord parked Wednesday in the 200 block of Otterbein St.
Northwestern District
Robbery: Three men forced their way into an apartment in the 4700 block of Wakefield Road about 5: 30 p.m. Wednesday and robbed a female occupant of a pager, cash and cigarettes, all valued at more than $160.
Central District
Theft: A sapphire ring valued at more than $1,000 was stolen Wednesday from the teachers' lounge at Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Elementary School in the 500 block of W. Preston St.
Theft: Golf clubs valued at $800 were stolen Wednesday from a Ford truck parked in the first block of S. Eutaw St.
Eastern District
Assault: A man, 37, was in critical but stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center after someone struck him several times in the head and body with a baseball bat in the 1800 block of N. Durham St. about 2: 15 p.m. Wednesday.
Robbery: A man, 32, was in the 2300 block of E. Madison St. about 8 p.m. Wednesday when another man struck him in the face with a stick and robbed him of $200.
Northern District
Burglary: A videocassette recorder, 5,000 BTU air conditioner, microwave oven, wall phone, golf clubs and a 20-inch floor fan, with a total value of at least $825, were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 4000 block of The Alameda.
Robbery: A man with a knife robbed the Royal Farm store in the 3600 block of Roland Ave. of more than $100 about midnight Wednesday.
Southwestern District
Robbery/arrest: A man, who was armed with a knife, was arrested Wednesday afternoon shortly after he robbed Polock Johnny's in the 3200 block of Washington Blvd. of an undisclosed sum of money.
Towson Precinct
Theft: An unknown number of people entered the back yard of a house in the 7400 block of York Road overnight Tuesday and removed at least 300 peaches from two peach trees. The theft was discovered about 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Robbery: A gunman robbed two women of their cellular phones, cash and keys about 4: 30 a.m. Wednesday as they sat in a car parked in an alley behind the 1300 block of Mantle St.
Cockeysville Precinct
Burglary: Jewelry and a microwave oven, all valued at $300, were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 100 block of Fennington Circle by someone who entered through a window.
