Devil Rays update

Tampa Bay has a 22-36 road record, the worst in the AL, and has lost eight of 11 overall after falling in Cleveland, 4-2, last night. Its .260 average is the second-lowest in the league. There's still plenty of speed atop the order with Randy Winn and Quinton McCracken, and former Oriole Aaron Ledesma is batting .328 in a utility role. But power outages from Fred McGriff and Paul Sorrento continue to leave the Devil Rays in the dark. They were held to three runs as the Orioles won two of three in St. Petersburg last week. Guzman limited them to one run and three hits over 5 2/3 innings in his second Orioles start. His effort came at the expense of Saunders, who held the Orioles to two runs over eight innings. The Devil Rays swept a four-game series here in May, beginning the day after Mussina's nose was broken by a line drive. Mussina tossed a five-hit shutout in St. Petersburg on May 9, striking out 10.
