St. George's Episcopal Church gets new rector

St. George's Episcopal Church of Hampstead recently welcomed a new rector, the Rev. Christopher Douglas Tang.

Tang has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Maryland and graduate credits from Loyola College. He worked with computers until 1990, when he began studying at the Virginia Theological Seminary.

He received a master of divinity degree in May 1996 and became curate at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Lutherville.

The church continues its summer schedule of a 10 a.m. Holy Eucharist worship service on Sundays through Sept. 13. A children's chapel for 3- to 8-year-olds and a nursery for babies and toddlers is available. The church is at 2434 Cape Horn Road.
