Highs and lows

THE BALTIMORE SUN

And a lineman shall lead them: After at least three interceptions slipped through the hands of defensive backs yesterday, none other than defensive end Michael McCrary, who was dropping into coverage in a zone blitz assignment, picked off the first pass of the day in team drills.

Down and up again: Cornerback DeRon Jenkins gave up long completions in seven-on-seven drills to Floyd Turner and Stevie TC Anderson before rallying later to knock down two passes.

Injury update: Offensive tackle Orlando Brown (ankle), fullback Roosevelt Potts (knee), defensive tackle Larry Webster (hamstring), safety Stevon Moore (shoulder), tight end Brian Kinchen (thumb), defensive end Mike Frederick (knee) and fullback Tony Vinson (shoulder) did not practice. Defensive back Donny Brady (knee) did some limited work, and offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden pulled out of practice late with a groin injury not believed to be serious.

Dates to remember: The Ravens must reduce their roster to 60 by Aug. 25 and come up with a final 53-man roster by Aug. 30. The team breaks training camp one week from today.

Quote: "I'd prefer to sack the quarterback, but I don't mind covering somebody one-on-one. I've got some good hands. I'm a multitalented individual."
