Former Rep. Helen Delich Bentley threw her support yesterday behind Larry Mark Epstein, her former campaign treasurer, in the race for the Republican nomination for state comptroller.

Bentley said yesterday that her endorsement of Epstein applies only to the primary contest. The former GOP congresswoman appeared this summer at a campaign rally for former Gov. William Donald Schaefer, a longtime friend who is seeking the Democratic nomination for comptroller.
