In addition to Jenny Chuasiriporn, three other Marylanders are in the U.S. Women's Amateur in Ann Arbor, Mich. -- Andrea Kraus of Pikesville and Woodholme Country Club, Leland Beckel of Bethesda and Columbia CC and Mallory Crosland of Bethesda and the Chevy Chase Club. A fourth entrant, Sally Krueger of San Francisco, is a former Bethesda resident and Maryland State and Middle Atlantic women's amateur champion.

Single medal rounds today and tomorrow will reduce the field of 144 to 64 for match play the rest of the week. Two rounds Thursday and Friday will set up Saturday's semifinals. The scheduled 36-hole final will be Sunday.
