Passer-by finds body of woman, 32, behind house in East Baltimore alley Mother of three last seen with unidentified man

THE BALTIMORE SUN

The body of a woman who had been shot, stabbed and beaten was found yesterday in an East Baltimore alley behind a vacant house, police said.

Detective David Peckoo said a man walking in an alley in the 1400 block of N. Rose St. about 6 a.m. found the partially clothed body of Karen Denise Blake, 32, a mother of three who lived in the 3400 block of Mayfield Ave.

Peckoo said Blake had been shot and beaten in the head with a blunt object. He said she had been stabbed and her upper body had several cuts.

Peckoo said Blake was killed elsewhere and her body dumped in the alley. He said she was last seen alive about 2 a.m., sitting with an unknown man in a burgundy car in the 3200 block of Lyndale Ave., about eight blocks from where her body was found.

Anyone with information about the slaying is asked to call the homicide squad at 410-396-2100.
