THE BALTIMORE SUN

Children's Storybooks Online at www.magickeys.com/books/index.html

This Web site of stories for young children is enhanced by large illustrations, some of them animated. Additional features include riddles, mazes and pages to color. Other children's literature sites are listed, though most would appeal to an older audience.

Carol Hurst's Children's Literature Site at www.carolhurst.com/titles/allreviewed.html

As a former schoolteacher and librarian, Hurst brings a great deal of expertise to the job of judging children's books. The best part of this site is the ability to search by title, author, type of book (picture, fiction, nonfiction) or grade level (pre-K through ninth). A featured books section provides a list of discussion topics for parent and child so they can talk about issues raised in the story, and a list of similar books that the child might also enjoy.
