Carroll County Planning and Zoning Commission will meet from 6: 30 p.m. to 10 p.m. today at Liberty High School to discuss land-use proposals contained in the draft of the Freedom Area Mini-Plan.

Residents are encouraged to attend this public meeting in the choir room of the school on Bartholow Road in Eldersburg.

New tank being used to enhance water system

Carroll County Bureau of Utilities has announced that a new water tank is being put into service to enhance the existing water system in the Freedom area.

Filling the tank will continue all week.

During the week, residents of the Edgewood subdivision in Eldersburg may experience temporary low water pressure.

Sykesville: Firefighters responded at 7: 17 a.m. Sunday to an alarm on Ramsburg Road, Howard County. Units were out three minutes.

Sykesville: Firefighters from Sykesville, Gamber and Liberty Road, Baltimore County, responded at 8: 50 p.m. Saturday to a house fire on Gemini Drive. Units were out 20 minutes.

Sykesville: Firefighters responded at 7: 53 p.m. Saturday to a house fire on Frederick Road. Units were out two hours.
