Harold Shue, 95, the oldest person to serve as a mayor in Ohio, died Friday in Anna. Mr. Shue, who resigned because of failing health three years ago, was 73 when he began a career in politics. He said he wanted to keep busy after his wife died in 1976, so he agreed to fill a vacancy on the Anna village council.

In 1981, the mayor resigned and he was asked to serve out the term, which ended in 1983. He was then elected to three, four-year terms in Anna, a village of about 2,500 people in west-central Ohio.
