Police seek man, 18, after fire at house

THE BALTIMORE SUN

State police in Westminster have obtained an arrest warrant for an 18-year-old man being sought in an arson in New Windsor on Monday.

Chris Lee Myers, 18, has no fixed address, police said. He is a former boyfriend of an occupant of a house in the 2800 block of Graybeal Court, where a fire broke out about 10: 45 p.m., damaging the door to an attached garage and a door leading to the home of David Hommerbocker.

The brief blaze also damaged two vehicles parked in the garage.

Residents were awakened by a noise and discovered the fire, police said. Five occupants escaped without injury.

Witnesses described a suspect leaving the area on a bicycle, and police said a bicyclist had allegedly threatened Kelly Hommerbocker, 18, earlier Monday.

Firefighters from New Windsor, Union Bridge and Westminster found the fire under control and called state fire marshals, who determined that the fire was caused by an incendiary device.

Police, who used police dogs and a helicopter to search the area without success, said Myers might have injuries that he suffered in a fight earlier Monday.
