This weekend at Laurel

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Today

New York-based Termly heads the lineup of 11 Maryland-bred fillies and mares for the 29th All Brandy Stakes. The $75,000 affair is 1 1/8 miles on the turf course.

Termly, bred at Bohemia Farm in Chesapeake City, is based at Belmont with trainer James Jerkins.

In April at Pimlico, she ran second to Weather Vane in the Geisha Handicap.

Her main opposition is expected to come from locally based runners -- Earth to Jackie which has won three of four outings this year and Snit, a game filly which missed by a half-length in the Roseanna Stakes at Delaware Park in her initial outing on turf.

Tomorrow

Bayard Sharp's Dixie Daylight makes her stakes debut in the $35,000-added Cumberland Stakes, a 7-furlong event for fillies and mares.

Seven others will challenge the unbeaten daughter of Dixieland Band, which puts a five-race winning streak on the line. The field was reduced to seven at scratch time when Dancing Merenda was withdrawn.

Try Your Best and Tuzia are the only other members of the field with last-time victories to their credit.

Punch Bug, Biding Time, Ink On Paper and the entry of Not What I Do and Just Plain Jane round out the field.
