Police seize crack, heroin, guns in raid

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Police seized crack cocaine, heroin and weapons and arrested three people yesterday in a raid on an apartment in the 3600 block of Bowers Ave. in Northwest Baltimore.

Sgt. John Platt of the Northwestern District said that during the 11 a.m. raid, officers seized 500 grams of crack cocaine worth an estimated $20,000; heroin worth about $2,000; a .280-caliber semi-automatic handgun; a .38-caliber revolver and a 12-gauge pistol-grip shotgun.

Platt said those arrested supplied dealers at three street corners -- Pimlico Road and Oakley Avenue, Queensberry Avenue and West Garrison Avenue, and West Garrison Avenue and Pimlico Road.

Police identified the suspects as Anthony Cannady, 24; Barbara Dutton, 46; and Latanya Burton, 24, all residents of the raided premises. Police said each was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to distribute and they were being held at the Central Booking and Intake Center, pending bail hearings.
