Street festival

They'll be dancing in the street Saturday as the Hamilton Street Festival takes over Harford Road. Live music, educational kids' shows, Scales and Tales animal shows and clowns will entertain. Browse the bookmobile's collection and the craft area, sample a variety of foods, see displays by more than 100 vendors and community organizations, including the Baltimore City Police Department, and meet local politicians.

The street festival takes place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 5400 and 5500 Harford Road. Free. Call 410-254-2323.

International Day

Celebrate the ethnic diversity of Columbia all day Saturday as part of "Columbia International Day - A Multi-Cultural Experience" at the Columbia lakefront. Enjoy live entertainment throughout the day, foods, crafts, puppetry, face-painting and caricatures. Children can ride the carousel, create sand art, hop around the moon bounce and meet Tulip the Pink Elephant. Performers will include Mama Jama, the Cergy-Pontoise Accordion Club, Hispanics in History, the Trinidad and Tobago Steel Band, flamenco and Middle Eastern dancers, Chinese and South American musical groups and Native American storytellers.

Events take place Saturday from noon to 10:30 p.m. at the Columbia Town Center lakefront, off Little Patuxent Parkway across from the mall. Free. Call 410-715-3161.
