MPT to show film by Western Maryland teacher

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Maryland Public Television's "Newsnight Maryland" program will give a sneak preview of a new film by producer Jonathan Slade of Westminster at 7 p.m. tomorrow.

Slade and his students at Western Maryland College made "Forest For the Trees." The film tells the story of four college friends on a five-day bicycle trip along Western Maryland's rustic C & O Canal.

Instead of a relaxing vacation, the four encounter bad weather, infidelity and the realization that a healthy relationship in the 1990s is nearly impossible to find.

The film premieres at noon Saturday at the Charles Theatre in Baltimore.
