A Baltimore man was arrested Monday at the Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company carnival grounds after a state trooper found a sword in a walking cane the man was using.
Kenneth E. Kutcherman, 29, of the 1300 block of N. Carey St. was charged with carrying a deadly weapon and released yesterday after posting a $25,000 corporate bond, court records showed.
In charging documents, Tfc. Charles K. Hahn said he was dispersing an unruly crowd at the carnival about 9: 10 p.m. when a patron told him a man had a cane sword. The carnival grounds are at Reese Road and Route 140.
Hahn said he confronted a man, who told the trooper he was using the cane because of a leg injury. Hahn said he removed a 20-inch steel sword when he pulled the handle of the 36-inch cane.
Westminster: A resident of Buck Cash Drive reported Monday that someone removed a boy's 21-speed Trek 700 bicycle from the area of 56 W. Main St. Loss is estimated at $200.
Westminster: Firefighters from Westminster and New Windsor responded at 8: 02 p.m. Monday to a stove fire at 353 Greenbriar Close. Units were out for 10 minutes.
