McCormick's McCafferty gains development post
McCormick & Co., the Sparks-based spice and flavorings manufacturer, appointed Denise W. McCafferty director of global product development in the company's corporate research and development laboratories. An MBA graduate of Loyola College, the Sparks resident joined the international company as a lab technician in 1975. She is a member of several professional groups, including the American Chemical Society and the Institute of Food Technologists.
Bozzuto Landscaping taps Abshier as manager
Bozzuto Landscaping Co. named Randall C. Abshier operations manager for the Upper Marlboro-based landscaping and grounds management firm. He will oversee all field operations including site inspections, personnel management and quality control. A graduate of the University of Maryland, the Severna Park resident is a member of the horticultural advisory board of Virginia Tech University.

Freed & Associates appointed William J. Peterson as creative director for the Baltimore-based ad/marketing agency. A graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, he formerly was graphic designer for Telecommunications Techniques Corp.
Deak named junior traffic manager at Reeves Agency
The Reeves Agency, a Baltimore-based regional advertising TTC firm, named Jennifer Deak a junior traffic manager. She will set deadlines and create time-lines for client accounts as well as prepare insertion orders for media placement.
Formerly a graphic arts assistant with Booz, Allen & Hamilton, the Annapolis resident is a graduate of Towson University.

Provident names Lehnerd assistant vice president
Provident Mortgage Corp. said David Lehnerd joined the Provident Bank division as assistant vice president and manager of its Hunt Valley branch. He will be responsible for originating residential mortgages and recruiting new loan officers. Formerly vice president of C&F; Mortgage Corp., the Darlington resident is an MBA graduate of the University of Colorado. He is active in the Harford County Association of Realtors and Harford chapter of the Home Builders Association of Maryland.

HelixHealth picks Lucas to be vice president
HelixHealth named Vicki A. Lucas vice president of women's services for the Lutherville-based health care system. She will be responsible for management and coordination of women's health services and will be involved with physician recruitment. She holds a doctorate from the University of Texas and was with Houston-based Memorial Health Care System. A native of Cumberland and now a Baltimore resident, she is a member of the Association of Women's Health, Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses.
