What was your favorite children's book series? " 'CuriouGeorge.' "

Did your parents read to you? "Of course. We didn't have videoback then."

Has reading had any impact on your baseball career? "My mo && wanted me to get an education. It takes a little pressure off your baseball career if you have an education and have something to fall back on if you don't make it. If you read and do your schoolwork, it takes some pressure off you.

"You can always learn things about the game by reading. I read lot. It can help you just reading the box scores to see what other people are doing."
