Man suspected of leading car theft ring arrested

A Prince George's County man suspected of heading a ring that stole luxury cars from Rhode Island to North Carolina was arrested yesterday on warrants charging him with 10 counts of felony auto theft, police said.

State Police Sgt. Laura Lu Herman said fingerprints from three stolen vehicles found June 8 at the Harbor Court Garage in the first block of E. Lee St. in Baltimore led to the arrest of Kevin Jay Rellah, 37, of Clinton.

Rellah, who was arrested in Washington, is accused of heading a ring responsible for stealing 10 vehicles worth $500,000, including a Porsche recovered in Timonium yesterday, Herman said.

He was held in Washington yesterday after appearing before a U.S. District Court magistrate.
