Southwestern District
Stabbing: A 45-year-old man was in the 100 block of S. Franklintown Road about 8: 30 p.m. Wednesday when another man stabbed him in the face with a knife and escaped. The victim was found in the 2400 block of Frederick Ave. and was in critical condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center last night.
Central District
Burglary: A fireplace mantel valued at $400 was stolen from a house in the 1100 block of N. Calvert St. on Wednesday by someone who entered through a rear window.
Robbery: A woman, 30, was in the 400 block of Orchard St. about 4 p.m. Wednesday when two men, one with a small-caliber handgun, robbed her of her purse containing cash and property, all valued at more than $30.
Southern District
Theft: Someone entered the Baltimore Orioles offices in the 300 block of W. Camden St. on Wednesday and stole a U.S. passport, book bag and $20.
Purse snatch: A woman was in the 100 block of S. Payson St. about 1 a.m. Wednesday when a man stole her purse containing property and prescription drugs.
Northwestern District
Burglary: Police were seeking a suspect who entered a house in the 4100 block of Fairfax Road on Wednesday and stole two cellular phones, a music box, compact disc player and a boom-box radio, all valued at more than $1,000.
Robbery: A 76-year-old woman was in the 2700 block of N. Longwood St. about 3: 30 p.m. Wednesday when a man struck her and stole her purse containing $2. The woman was treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital for a shoulder injury.
Eastern District
Robbery: A man armed with a knife robbed a 77-year-old woman of $30 in the 1400 block of E. Madison St. about 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Northern District
Theft from vehicle: An AM-FM cassette radio valued at $300 was stolen from a 1982 Chevrolet Cavalier parked in the 100 block of E. 32nd St. on Wednesday.
Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 2500 block of Oswego Ave. on Wednesday and stole a videocassette recorder and a 10-inch television, all valued at $300.
Theft: A miter saw valued at $300 was stolen from a pickup truck parked in the 300 block of E. 29th St. on Wednesday.
Cockeysville Precinct
Burglary: Someone entered the Jacksonville Veterinary Hospital in the 3400 block of Sweet Air Road through a window overnight Tuesday and stole $12 worth of drugs.
Essex Precinct
Robbery: A 75-year-old woman left the NationsBank in the 1200 block of Windlass Drive about 1: 40 p.m. Wednesday and was walking from the building when three teen-age boys stole her purse containing an undisclosed sum of money.
Burglary: Cash, coins, stereo equipment and a handgun were stolen from a house in the 2800 block of Breezy Point Court on Wednesday by someone who entered through a door.
