Anna M. Strasinger, 88, former Baltimore nurse

Anna Minerva Strasinger, a Maryland native who worked as a registered nurse at several Baltimore-area hospitals, died July 8 of unknown causes while in a Staunton, Va., nursing home, where she had lived since 1996. She was 88.

A native of Frostburg, the former Anna Williams graduated from the Franklin Square Hospital School of Nursing in the early 1930s and worked at many Baltimore hospitals, including Johns Hopkins, Union Memorial, Franklin Square and the University of Maryland. She retired in 1972.

She married Howard L. Strasinger in 1934. He died in 1944.

Services were held Saturday.

She is survived by a son, Howard L. Strasinger of Orange Beach, Ala.; a daughter, Nancy A. Desper of Staunton, Va.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
