'Family Fun and Fireworks'

Escape the doldrums of summer and bring the kids to an evening of cartoon culture, classical television music and popular movie tunes with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Saturday at Oregon Ridge Park. Hear selections from "The Sound of Music," "The Little Mermaid," "Toy Story" and "Anastasia," as well as other favorites. Games and activities, including a parade of musical instruments led by Bart Simpson, will entertain kids of all ages before the concert. Fireworks will provide an explosive finale to the evening.

Oregon Ridge Park, Shawan Road in Hunt Valley, opens for visitors at 4 p.m. Pre-concert entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m. The concert begins at 8 p.m. Rain date is Sunday. Free shuttle from Hunt Valley Mall. $14 at the event; $13 in advance; $7 ages under 12. Call 410-783-8000.

'Magic, Music, Puppets and You'

A colorful, magical, musical program with Mark Andrew Beachy will delight children and parents alike, Sunday at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Pumpkin Theatre offers this family presentation as part of its "Three Sundays in July of Music, Magic & Juggling." This week, Beachy, an award-winning entertainer, composer and lyricist, bridges the generation gap and creates an afternoon of fun for the entire family.

Clown Nick Gough appears July 26 with his frantic juggling routine, jokes, stories, slapstick and audience participation.

All programs are geared toward children ages 4 to 7 with an adult companion.

The family presentations take place from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the BMA, Art Museum Drive. Fee is $14 for each child/adult team and $7 for each additional participant. For registration, call 410-828-1814.
