These sites on the World Wide Web have been reviewed and recommended by Susan Rapp, director of the Village Reading Center:

* www.ash.udel.edu: The "Alphabet Superhighway" contains materials, strategies, tips and ideas for parents, teachers and kids. An online Cyberzine magazine is generated by upper elementary and high school students. The site includes a tutor program covering a wide range of subjects and a homework helper list of tips. ASH also has recommended book lists separated by grade. Click on READ*WRITE*NOW for a manual of strategies on reading and writing.

* www.ala.org/parentspage/greatsites/: The American Library Association has launched a "cybercollection" of links to more than 700 fun, exciting and useful Web sites for children and parents.

* www.ed.gov/pubs/parents/Reading/: The "Helping Your Child Series" by Bernice Cullinan and Brod Bagert contains activities for youngsters from infancy through age 10. These include making reading with your child enjoyable and ways to increase writing, talking and listening to boost your child's love of language.
