Weekend for a 'Picnic' Theater

THE BALTIMORE SUN

What could be more appropriate for summer than a picnic? This is the last weekend to see Theatre Hopkins' production of "Picnic," William Inge's Pulitzer Prize-winning play set in small-town Kansas on Labor Day.

Performed in the Merrick Barn and directed by Suzanne Pratt, the production features Ben Kram as the young drifter who upsets the lives of the Owens household, headed by Theatre Hopkins favorites Rosemary Polen, as Mrs. Owens, and Patricia Coleman, as her spinster boarder.

Show times at the Merrick Barn, on the Homewood campus of Johns Hopkins University, are 8 p.m. tomorrow and Saturday, 2:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 and $12. Call 410-516-7159.
