Learn all about naval hero John Paul Jones Saturday at the Armel-Leftwich Visitor Center of the U.S. Naval Academy. Witness the laying of a wreath in the crypt of Jones, watch the raising of the Bon Homme Richard colors over the Visitor Center, see dramatic presentations of Jones by John Wilson, hear live bagpipes, meet Clara Ann Simmons, author of "John Paul Jones: America's Sailor," and tour the exhibit, "Life Aboard Ship During the American Revolution," to explore the hardships of life at sea during the 18th century.

John Paul Jones Day is Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Academy's Visitor Center, 52 King George St., Annapolis. Events are free. Tours are $5.50 for adults; $4.50 seniors; $3.50 students. Call 410-263-6933.

'Princess and the Pea'

See an enchanting musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen classic, "The Princess and the Pea," tonight through July 19 at Cockpit in Court, Court Jesters Young People's Theatre at Essex Community College. A cast of more than 50 children, ages 6 to 18, performs in director Chris Tart's production of this timeless tale. Cockpit in Court is Maryland's largest, longest-running summer theater.

The musical runs tonight through July 19 at Cockpit in Court's Lecture Hall, 7201 Rossville Blvd. Shows are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7 p.m. with select matinees Sundays at 2 p.m. The theater is handicapped accessible. Tickets are $5. Call 410-780-6369.
