Ida G. Riggs, 82, managed travel agencies

Ida G. Riggs, who managed travel agencies, died Friday at St. Agnes HealthCare of complications from a fall. She was 82 and lived in Catonsville.

She joined the Automobile Club of America in 1950 and managed two of its World Travel Agency offices in Baltimore and one in Columbia. She retired in 1980.

She was a longtime member of Central Summerfield United Methodist Church in Edmondson Village, where she taught Sunday school and played piano.

The former Ida Gracie, who was born in West Baltimore and raised in Catonsville, graduated from Western High School. In 1947, she married George J. Riggs, who died in 1972.

Services for Mrs. Riggs will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Witzke Funeral Home, 1630 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville.

She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Suzanne Riggs of Providence, R.I., and Gail Riggs Kennedy of Catonsville; a brother, Russell Gracie of Pasadena; and six grandchildren.
