Medieval historian Paul Newman will give a demonstration and talk, "How a Knight Gets Dressed," at three of the county's public libraries this week.

Newman will appear at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Perry Hall Library, 9440 Belair Road; 7 p.m. Tuesday at Essex Library, 1110 Eastern Blvd.; and 11 a.m. Saturday at 11 a.m. at Rosedale Library, 6105 Kenwood Ave.

The demonstration is part of the library system's summer reading program, which has a medieval theme.

Catonsville library plans two children's programs

CATONSVILLE -- The county library system's Catonsville branch will hold two programs for children this week.

"Growing Up! Growing Down!" -- stories, songs and activities for children ages 2 to 6 -- will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday and 10: 30 a.m. Thursday.

Toddler fair to offer books, toys and activities

LUTHERVILLE

LUTHERVILLE -- Parents and teachers interested in the newest books, educational toys and recreational and day care opportunities for toddlers are invited to the fourth annual Baltimore Regional Toddler Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Montessori School, 10807 Tony Drive.

Learning disabilities focus of Web site, toll-free help line

Parents and teachers who want to know how to recognize learning disabilities and help children who have them can use two new resources.

The Coordinated Campaign for Learning Disabilities and the Advertising Council have opened a toll-free help line and an Internet Web site to educate people about learning disabilities.
