Police are seeking a suspect in firing of gun after quarrel

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Howard County police say they are looking for a man who allegedly fired gunshots in a North Laurel neighborhood after an argument Wednesday afternoon.

Sgt. Morris Carroll, department spokesman, said officers have tentatively identified a suspect in the 12: 20 p.m. shooting in the 9700 block of Covered Wagon Drive. Carroll said the gunman shot at another man, who was not hurt. Police would not identify either person.

About an hour after the shooting, police found three people sitting in a van in the 9000 block of Moonshine Hollow, Carroll said.

As police questioned them, one man fled and dropped a gun that police said was used in the shooting, Carroll said.

A 15-year-old girl was arrested and charged as a juvenile with assisting an escape. The third person in the van, Charles Lamar Howard, 25, of Cheverly, was charged with assisting an escape and making a false statement.
