The Red Cross is in immediate need of blood donations to meet the demands of hospital patients.

Donor centers -- in Towson, Glen Burnie, Bel Air, Columbia and White Marsh -- will be open from 7 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday.

Most healthy people, who are age 17 or older and weigh at least 110 pounds, are eligible to donate. Locations and additional donation times are available by calling 1-800-448-3256.
