Car strikes guardrail on I-95, critically injuring Columbia teen

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Maryland State Police are investigating an accident on Interstate 95 this weekend that left an 18-year-old Columbia man critically injured.

Jason Allen Schilf, of the 10000 block of Shaker Drive in Kings Contrivance, was ejected from the passenger seat of a car after it struck a guardrail near Vollmerhausen Road about 12: 45 a.m. Saturday, said Sgt. Anthony Satchell.

Schilf, who suffered severe head trauma, was flown to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was listed in critical but stable condition yesterday.

The driver of the car, Jack Daley, 18, of Columbia, was not injured, Satchell said.

Satchell said the car was part of a four-vehicle caravan heading from Columbia to College Park.

A juvenile driving another car in the caravan that was not involved in the accident was charged with driving while intoxicated, Satchell said.
