Elizabeth V. Blackwell, 80, homemaker, Baltimore native
Elizabeth V. Blackwell, a homemaker and Baltimore native, died Tuesday of heart failure at Lorien Frankford Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was 80.
A resident of West Baltimore for most of her life, the former Elizabeth Finney was a graduate of Frederick Douglass High School. She married James Blackwell in 1936.
She enjoyed reading and card playing.
Services are scheduled for 6: 30 p.m. tomorrow at the Nutter Funeral Home, 2501 Gwynns Falls Parkway.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, James Blackwell Jr.; six daughters, Barbara Lewis, Joyce Blackwell, Laverne Coleman, Cynthia Lance, Delores Franklin-Hill and Diane Jordan; and two sisters, Ruth Matthews and Helen Brown. All are of Baltimore.
She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
