Re-enactors will commemorate the 135th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg by re-creating important moments from the struggle. The original battle took place on July 1-3, 1863, and was the culmination of the Confederacy's second invasion of the North. When the fighting ended, the South had been defeated with devastating losses.
