Zoning panel to review plat being eyed by Wal-Mart

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Mount Airy Planning and Zoning Commission will review a new plat in Mount Airy Shopping Center at its meeting Monday.

Wal-Mart, the national retail chain, has expressed interest in the 14-acre site in the center at Ridgeville Boulevard and Route 27.

The commission review is the first step in the development process.

If officials approve the subdivision plat and Wal-Mart wants to proceed, developer Gary Rappaport would submit a site plan for what is expected to be a store of 85,000 square feet.

The planning session begins at 7 p.m. in Town Hall, 110 S. Main St.
