Door fatally crushes Hampstead woman as she tries to get out of rolling car

THE BALTIMORE SUN

A Hampstead woman was killed in Westminster yesterday when her 1988 Mercury drifted forward into mailboxes and a utility pole, pinning her between the car and its door as she tried to get out.

Patsy Ruth Piner, 57, of the 2600 block of Hoffman Mill Road was pronounced dead at the scene on Blue Heron Drive and Old Manchester Road.

Police said they do not know why the woman stopped her car on Blue Heron Drive and tried to get out about 12: 30 p.m. The investigation is continuing.
