Gamber man suffers injuries fighting fire in his garage
A Gamber man suffered second-degree burns on his hands yesterday morning when he tried to extinguish a fire in a garage attached to his house, state fire officials said.
A passer-by had noticed smoke coming from the garage at the one-story home in the 2000 block of Kays Mill Road in Gamber at 9: 26 a.m. and stopped to notify the owner, fire officials said.
Damage was estimated at $1,000. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

Sykesville: Firefighters from Sykesville, Gamber and Reese responded to a house fire in the 800 block of Wilda Drive at 8: 12 p.m. Tuesday. Units were out 30 minutes.
