College board gives DiAiso emeritus trustee status

The Anne Arundel Community College board of trustees has awarded trustee emeritus status to outgoing member Robert J. DiAiso for 24 years of service to the college. DiAiso's six consecutive terms make him the college's longest-serving trustee.

DiAiso was chairman of the board for three terms, served on nine major committees and worked with four of the college's five presidents. In granting the honor, the board praised his innovation in resolving complex economic, staff and construction problems.

He helped guide the quick design and construction of the Florestano Building, and he led development of the college's master plan.
