Louis F. Linden has resigned after more than three years as executive director of the Constellation Foundation, which is conducting a $9 million restoration of the historic 1854 warship.
"He's done a terrific job," said foundation chairwoman Gail Shawe. "He came at a time when it was questionable whether the ship would be taken out of the water and saved." With the hardest work now complete, "he feels he has to find a new cause."
The ship is expected to be refloated in August and returned to the Inner Harbor by next summer. All but $2.3 million of the cost has been raised, Shawe said.
