An easy way to bag dinner
I had good luck using Reynolds Hot Bags, the new heavy-duty foil bags, for this recipe.
Southwestern Chicken and Corn Dinner
1 tablespoon flour
9 skinless, bone-in chicken pieces
4 teaspoons Mexican seasoning
3 ears corn, cut in pieces
2 bell peppers, cubed
1 onion, cut in eighths
Put ingredients in foil bag. Close tightly and grill, covered, for 30 minutes.
It's good and easy, and there's almost no cleanup. The only negative: You don't get much smoky flavor when you use a foil bag.
Boiling water to the rescue
Now that it's strawberry season, here's an old-fashioned remedy for berry stains on tablecloths, napkins or clothing that works amazingly well. While the stain is fresh, simply pour boiling water through the cloth and watch the stain slowly fade away.
New beverage with punch
On the designer beverage front: Baltimorean Hoby Buppert brings us a new soda alternative, BAWLS Guarana, made from the extract of the South American guarana berry. The taste is light with hints of vanilla and cream; but the 10-ounce, cobalt-blue bottle delivers a heavy punch: more than twice the caffeine of leading colas. It sells for $1.25.
