Rapes: A man known as "Kevin" was being sought in at least three rapes in the 1300 block of N. Calhoun St. between May 13 and Tuesday. In one rape, the man threatened his victim with a stun gun and a knife; in another, he was armed with a handgun. All three rapes occurred in vacant dwellings. Tuesday night, police investigating the latest rape in the block were fired on by a gunman. No officer was hit and police believe the gunman was not the rapist. Anyone with information about the rapist is asked to call the sex offense unit at 410-396-2078.
Arrest: A man suspected of more than 30 robberies at bus stops in North and Northeast Baltimore was arrested yesterday at his home in the 1600 block of Montpelier St. Sgt. Frank Wagner of the district's major case squad said the robberies began in April and the last one occurred early yesterday. He said in many of the incidents, the robber escaped in stolen cars that were found later. Wagner said the man also is suspected of abducting and raping a woman Sunday. Charges against the suspect were pending the investigation.
Robbery: A 77-year-old woman was in critical condition yesterday at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center after she was knocked to the pavement in the 3800 block of Chestle Place Tuesday morning by a man who stole her purse. Police said the woman, who suffered a head injury, was returning home from a bank in the 100 block of S. Eaton St.
Robbery: A woman was in the 2200 block of Garrison Blvd. about 6 a.m. Tuesday when a gunman robbed her of cash and property, all valued at more than $200.
Burglary: A snowball machine valued at more than $1,000 was stolen Tuesday from a snowball stand in the 3800 block of Southwestern Blvd.
Robbery: A gunman robbed Carney Crab House in the 2000 block of E. Joppa Road of an undisclosed sum of money about 9 p.m. Tuesday and escaped in a car driven by a second man.
Robbery: A deliveryman for Pizza Bolis in the 6500 block of Security Blvd. was making a delivery in the 6800 block of Townbrook Circle about 9 p.m. Tuesday when a gunman robbed him of cash and a cassette tape.
Burglary: Jewelry and other property, all valued at more than $1,000, were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 1700 block of Champlain Drive.
Burglary: A lawn tractor, garden tiller, leaf blower and other garden equipment, all valued at more than $3,000, were stolen Tuesday from a garage in the 700 block of Keidel Drive.
