Police officers posing as drug dealers arrested more than 200 suspected drug buyers during "Decoy-2," a three-day operation at three West Baltimore intersections known for heavy drug trafficking.
Several cars and about $1,000 were seized, said Lt. Michael Kundrat, head of the Western District drug enforcement unit.
Kundrat said between 35 and 40 percent of the 217 people arrested were from Baltimore, Anne Arundel and Carroll counties; one was a Michigan resident.
Kundrat said the intersections targeted Thursday, Friday and yesterday were North Payson and West Lanvale streets, Harlem Avenue and North Carey Street and Westwood and Thomas avenues.
He said after being approached by the suspects, who sought to purchase marijuana or cocaine, the undercover officers escorted them individually to an unmarked car manned by an arrest team.
The suspects were driven to the nearest public school, where they were processed by police and taken to the Central Booking and Intake Center, Kundrat said.
