Ryder's Glen

Kimberly Homes has begun construction at Ryder's Glen in Annapolis, where the firm is building the Derby, the Preakness and the Belmont, three-level townhouses named for the Triple Crown horse races.

Gas heat and hot water, central air conditioning, a sprinkler system, bedroom smoke detectors, prewiring for telephones and cable television and insulated double hung tilt windows with screens are standard features.

The Belmont is a 1,800-square-foot home with a base price of $98,900. The first floor has a foyer, 12-by-17-foot living room, dining room and kitchen.

Upstairs, the owner's quarters has a walk-in closet and 11-by-14-foot bedroom. A full bath, laundry area and two other bedrooms complete the second floor.

A single-car garage, foyer and 12-by-19-foot recreation room occupy the first floor of the Derby, which has 2,040 square feet and a beginning price of $113,990.

On the second floor are a 19-by-21-foot living room, 9-by-12-foot dining room and 9-by-12-foot kitchen. The third-floor master suite has a 12-by-13-foot bedroom, walk-in closet and shower bath. A full hall bath, two additional bedrooms, laundry area and linen closet are also on this level.

The Preakness starts at $107,990. It is almost identical to the Derby, but there is no garage and the 15-by-19-foot recreation room is in the basement.

The sales office is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Take Interstate 97 south to Route 50 east, to Aris T. Allen Boulevard east (which will become Forest Drive), to a right on Newtowne Drive to sales office on the right.
