School wants students, parents for accreditation planning team

THE BALTIMORE SUN

South Carroll High School is seeking students, parents and business representatives to be a part of its accreditation planning team.

The Middle States Association Commission on Secondary Schools that accredits schools has developed a new design, Accreditation For Growth. AFG requires a school to implement a five-year improvement plan based on its vision of the future.

A planning team prepares objectives that must be measurable and based on student achievement. Planning and implementation teams design and direct the strategies.

At the beginning, middle and end of the five-year process, educators visit the school to validate progress.

A meeting on the new accreditation process will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the school, 1300 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield.

Those interested are asked to contact the school at 410-795-8858 before the meeting.
