Theft: A lap-top computer valued at nearly $3,000 was stolen Monday from a 1991 Saab parked in the 2100 block of Webb Lane.
Attempted bank robbery: A man who implied he was armed attempted to rob the Bay-Vanguard Savings Bank in the 1500 block of E. Fort Ave. about 3 p.m. yesterday but drove off with no money. During a pursuit, the suspect rammed at least four police cars. No injuries were reported. A 50-year-old man was arrested and charges were pending.
Burglary: A videocassette recorder, jewelry and stereo equipment, all valued at nearly $1,500, were stolen Monday from a house in the 2000 block of Wilkens Ave.
Theft: A purse containing cash and jewelry, all valued at $1,300, was stolen Monday from a 1993 Chrysler LeBaron parked in the 1400 block of S. Charles St.
Robbery/arrest: A man robbed the High's store in the 5300 block of East Drive of $27 about 2: 40 p.m. Monday. Police traced the car to a nearby address. Charged with armed robbery was a 26-year-old whose name was not available.
Carjacking: A motorist leaving a store in the 2100 block of York Road about 2: 30 a.m. Monday was assaulted by a man who stole his 1987 GMC van with tags 19F396. The van was recovered in the 2300 block of York Road.

Arrest: Kenneth Lee Stallings Sr., 39, of the 1200 block of N. Dallas St., was arrested Monday by city police on a warrant charging him with first-degree murder in the stabbing of Allen Jones, 35, of the 400 block of W. Franklin St., near the suspect's home May 16.
