Ringer, Cramer win pro-assistant

THE BALTIMORE SUN

Larry Ringer and Steve Cramer each double-bogeyed the 17th hole, their first in the shotgun format, but that was the only mistake they made, as they polished off a 10-birdie spree for 30-3464 and a two-stroke victory in the Middle Atlantic PGA's pro-assistant championship for the Northern Chapter at Cattail Creek Country Club yesterday.

The pairings of Barry Fuhr- man-Wayne DeFrancesco and Bill Horney-Michael Wah each returned 32-3466 to share second place in the 48-team field, followed by John Sarrett-Joe Rahnis and David Grier-Ron Metz with 67's.

Ringer, head professional at the CC at Woodmore, had seven of the birdies, one a two-putt, and all but one of the others from inside seven feet.
