Seniors Amanda Lewis and Edward Andrew Taylor were selected as students of the month for April at South Carroll High School.

Amanda is the daughter of Tom and Laurie Lewis of Mount Airy. She has been a member of the Stage-lighters drama group and the chorus all through high school.

She was selected three times for the All-County Chorus. She is active in the Student Government Association and the Class of 1998 executive board. She also is an honor student.

Andy is the son of Milton and Patsy Taylor of Sykesville. He has been a four-year football player and was varsity captain in the fall of 1997. Also a tennis player, he was a county doubles champion in the spring of 1997.

He has placed in the South Carroll Bench Press competition. He is a member of the National Honor Society and received honorable mention in the Maryland Distinguished Scholar competition. He also belongs to several other school clubs.
