Anne Arundel County Circuit Judge Ronald A. Silkworth sentenced a Severn drug addict to 20 years in prison yesterday for armed robberies last fall in which he used a toy gun to terrorize Annapolis-area victims.
Quinton Truxon, 22, of the 1800 block of Cedar Drive told Silkworth that "the only reason I did what I did was because I wanted to get high." Truxon had a $700-a-day crack cocaine habit.
Truxon pleaded guilty in March to four armed holdups at small businesses in the Annapolis area. When arrested, he confessed to nine such holdups, all in November and December, said Assistant State's Attorney Fred Paone. Silkworth sentenced Truxon to 20 years for each of the four armed robberies, to be served consecutively, and suspended all but 20 years.
